About Ashlar
Do I have to buy everything at once?
No. Most people start with a review or the audit and decide from there. Each step is its own decision — you only take the next one when it's worth it.
I already have a website. Is it a full rebuild?
Not necessarily. Sometimes the quickest wins are small fixes to what you've got. The audit tells you honestly whether a rebuild is worth it or not.
What do you actually need from me?
An hour or so to talk through your business, access to your existing accounts, and your real photos and reviews. I handle the technical side.
Can you work with businesses near me?
I work with local service businesses across Trowbridge, Wiltshire, Bath and Bristol, and remotely further afield. Most of the work happens over email and calls, so location is rarely a blocker.
Will I be able to update the site myself?
Yes. It's your site and your accounts. I'll show you how to make everyday changes, and the care plan is there if you'd rather hand the upkeep over — but you're never locked in.
The 5-point review
What do I need to send?
Just your website, your business name and a little context on what matters most right now. Nothing technical is needed.
Is this an automated report?
No. I review it personally. The point is to give you a clear outside view of what may be helping or hurting trust, enquiries and bookings.
Will I get a sales pitch?
No. You'll get a concise review first. If you want help after that, we can talk, but the review itself is useful on its own.
How long does it usually take?
Usually a few working days, depending on demand. I keep it practical and focused rather than turning it into a bloated report.
Is this only for brand new websites?
Not at all. It's often most useful for existing sites that feel underwhelming, unclear or not quite converting as well as they should.
Builds, plans and scope
Do I need to sign up for a monthly plan?
No. The website is a one-off project you own outright once it's paid in full. Care and Growth are optional after-launch services — helpful, but never compulsory.
What is the difference between Care and Growth?
Care keeps the finished site hosted, secure, backed up and maintained — the calm option. Growth includes everything in Care and then actively improves search visibility, Google Business Profile, content and conversions to generate more enquiries.
Who owns the completed website?
You do. You own the website, its content and your domain and accounts once the project is paid in full. Care and Growth are services, not a lock-in — 30 days' notice either way, with a full export on exit.
How long does a typical build take?
A booking-ready site is usually a few weeks from go-ahead to launch, depending on how many pages you need and how quickly content and approvals come together.
Is SEO and Google Business Profile optimisation included in the build?
Yes. Every Website & Visibility Build includes a local SEO foundation and Google Business Profile optimisation. Ongoing improvement over time belongs in Ashlar Growth.
Can I begin with the paid audit only?
Yes. The Opportunity Report is £100 and stands on its own — you get a prioritised plan you own. If you go ahead with a build, the £100 comes off the build price.
Can I start with Care and move to Growth later?
Yes. Many owners start on Care for peace of mind and move up to Growth when they're ready to actively chase more enquiries. Growth simply adds to what Care already covers.
Can Ashlar work with my existing website?
Sometimes. If the site has a solid base, the Opportunity Report or Growth may make sense. If the structure is weak, a rebuild is usually cleaner than patching endlessly — the audit tells you honestly which it is.
Are automations included in the website price?
Simple contact forms and basic notifications are part of a normal build. Anything involving booking rules, CRM routing, quote workflows or dashboards is Automation & Integrations, scoped separately once the website and enquiry process are working.
